NAPA,
Calif., July 28, 2006 - Visitors to Napa Chef's Market in
downtown Napa welcomed back cooler, seasonal temperatures Friday
evening. They also welcomed Savvy Wine Food's Chef Erika
Heinemann, who treated savvy foodies to a food and wine pairing
cooking demonstration that highlighted seasonal produce commonly
found in summertime marketplaces.

The
interactive audience, which received samples following the
demonstration, also got an inside look into a chef's life as Skinner and
Heinemann entertained the audience
with anecdotes from Chef Erika's experiences in culinary school, the French
Laundry, and Duckhorn Wine Company.

During
the one-hour demonstration, Chef Erika first prepared heirloom
tomato tarts with fresh herbs and goat cheese. Then, as the tarts
baked, she moved on to preparing a summer squash soup.
"When seasonal produce like heirloom
tomatoes and summer squash are at their peak, I believe simpler, more rustic recipes allow the produce's robust flavors to
shine," said Chef Erika. "You really don't need to enhance their
flavor by over seasoning or adding too many other ingredients."
